Trees are everywhere, and unlike humans, quite still and rarely camera shy. Naturally, I have photographed them since I picked up my first camera. But I got the idea of making this into a longer project only recently when I joined a very crowded photowalk in central London. I was trying my best to use my awkward conversation skills to socialise with strangers all the while worrying about not having any good shots to show from the photowalk. It was around this time I found a tiny QR code pinned to a tree which read ‘I AM TREE’ (the cover picture)! Since then I have sought out such humorous situations and been lucky to encounter a few. And I have learnt that if you look carefully enough, these otherwise inexpressive beings can surprise you with their ability to mimic human life in many ways.
